Paleros is a beautiful town on the west coast of Greece by the Ionian sea, just 30 minutes from the island of Lefkada. Paleros has all the amenities one could wish for in a destination: great outdoors, a variety of activities, restaurants, cafes, and lively nightlife. It is also very inviting for families and/or quiet vacations. It’s is considered to be a hidden gem, having such great islands just a few short minutes away.
With stunning natural beauty, the town is built with two-story houses, allowing you to enjoy the view from any corner. The port of Paleros is home to many sailing boats, perfect for escaping to the plentiful small bays around.
Blessed by nature, there is a variety of activities to choose from. Scuba diving, windsurfing, and snorkeling are the most popular water activities to explore. For the ones who prefer outdoor activities on land, the location is renowned for the trails and hiking paths. The experience is definitely worth it and can also be done with a bike.
The Ancient City of Paleros, is assumed to have existed since the Mycenean era - as shown from the architecture and the city walls which date back to 2000 B.C. There are still parts of the walls used to protect the city, arched gates, some remains of an ancient market, and castles

Potamaki beach is large with thin sand and shallow waters. Makes it perfect for families with small children.
Agios Ioannis beach, located in the neighboring village of Pogonia, is immaculate for those who prefer a less crowded and tranquil time on the beach. It’s a small pebbly beach with deep clear waters, surrounded by a green hill.
For the ones who love snorkeling and diving; make sure to visit the beaches of Agia Paraskevi, Adelfonisia, and Agios Nikolaos.
Paleros to Myticas for a cycling excursion
Kastantoni Cave, old Paleros port, and ancient Kechropoula are recommended hiking paths.
